About the project

When complete, the Greenstock Pretreatment Facility (GPF) project will be a world-class pretreatment facility for cleaning sustainable bio waste and residue feedstocks such as animal fats (AF) categories 1, 2 and 3, used cooking oil (UCO) and advanced feedstocks. After the process, the feedstock is ready for direct conversion into high-quality renewable fuels like Renewable Diesel (HVO), Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and co-processing derivates. The independent low-emission facility will convert 400,000 metric tonnes of bio wastes and residues into renewable feedstocks annually.

Our vision for the future is one in which renewable fuels are globally available, helping to reduce carbon emissions and making positive contributions towards mitigating climate change. GPF will play a pivotal role in overcoming the main challenges in renewable fuel production: quality and quantity.

We aim to offer reliable, traceable, sustainable products from supplier to end user, ensuring availability and flexibility for our customers’ increasing demands for biofuels.

Where innovation
meets opportunity

Greenstock Pretreatment Facility will offer two separate production lines covering a wide range of bio waste and residue feedstocks, from animal fats (AF) and used cooking oil (UCO) to the most difficult advanced feedstocks: a 100 Kt/y line primarily focused on AF categories 1 and 2 and products with high free fatty acids (FFA) and high organic chlorides content, and a 300 Kt/y line for refining all other products.

GPF's planned location at VTTI Amsterdam terminal (ETA) offers unique advantages to support your most complex business challenges. We will be focusing on feedstock volume aggregation, blending, refining, in-house quality control, logistics and handling, and sustainability services to maximize the green value of our clients' renewable feedstocks and ultimately, your biofuels.

Competitive advantages
at a glance

A platform engineered to process the feedstocks most others avoid, convert variability into predictability, and transform the most complex waste oils and fats into reliable, industrial-grade biofuel ready supply.

Cat 1 & Cat 2 Animal Fats

Capability to pretreat Cat 1 and Cat 2 animal fats, one of the most technically challenging feedstocks in the biofuels industry and one that is rarely handled by conventional pretreatment assets.

Advanced Contaminant Removal

Advanced removal of contaminants, including organic chlorides and FFAs, protecting downstream SAF/HVO units from catalyst poisoning.

Industrial-Scale Throughput

Industrial-scale pretreatment designed for approximately 400,000 Kt/year throughput, with high availability, and with maintenance windows already engineered into the operating model.

Multi-Feedstock Validation

Validation across more than 14 feedstocks at lab and pilot scale, proving process robustness before industrial operation.

Modular Pretreatment Architecture

Modular pretreatment architecture, allowing activation of specific unit operations depending on feedstock quality and product specifications.

Campaign‑Based Processing Without Cross‑Contamination

Fully drainable and cleanable tanks, piping and equipment, enabling campaign‑based processing of different feedstocks without cross‑contamination.

Integrated Laboratory & Technical-Scale Simulation

Integrated laboratory with technical-scale unit operations, capable of simulating industrial pretreatment and predicting yields, chemical consumption and operational windows before processing.

Multi-Layer Quality Control

Multi-layer quality control system, from feedstock acceptance testing to inline monitoring and final product certification.

Reprocessing Loops & Slop Recovery

Dedicated reprocessing loops and slop recovery systems, enabling off-spec material to be recovered rather than lost.

Full Segregation & Traceability Infrastructure

Full segregation and traceability infrastructure, including Cat 1 / non‑Cat 1 separation, customer‑specific storage and digital batch tracking.
